Introduction

We updated the Revive Adserver Hosted edition to the most recent software version 5.4, more specifically the 5.4.1 release that was published on May 12, 2022.

This newest release of the Revive Adserver software introduces improved password functionality for new and existing users.

In this blog post, you can read about the changes and enhancements that are most important to you as a subscriber to this service.

A detailed article about all the changes regarding passwords is available on our website.

End-user changes in v5.4.0

In addition to the new password features, and several behind-the-scenes changes, a number of changes and improvements have been implemented:

  • We’ve added support for WEBP format in image and HTML5 banners.
  • Website invocation code generation now uses async tags by default.
  • Tags are now generated using https by default, with the possibility to use plain http instead in the invocation code screens.
  • We’ve added banner delivery setting to configure the “rel” HTML attribute for the click tracking links of image and text banners, defaulting to “noopener nofollow”. The setting is also exposed in the newly added “{rel}” magic macro.

End-user changes in v5.4.1

We fixed a number of bugs in this version of the software:

  • We fixed an issue causing “permission denied” errors in some statistics screens, e.g. banner / zone history.
  • We fixed an incompatibility between the {clickurl} macro and other magic macros, e.g. {random}, when used together in a destination URL.
  • We fixed an issue detecting campagin start/end date overlap when linking banners to newsletter zones under some circumstances.
